Recovery

Sunny warm days make it all better.

Hey.

It’s been a while. How have you been?

I’ve been struggling for a bit. I haven’t updated this in a while. After my last post in September, work and life got busy and I pushed a lot of my projects to the back burner.

Then on November 13 I almost died. I suffered from internal hemorrhaging due to an ectopic pregnancy. I went to the hospital that morning for what I thought was severe case of stomach flu— which they agreed with and went home. That night I passed out and my husband rushed me back to the ER. I was in surgery before sunrise on Thursday.

It was rough and the recovery from it is an ongoing process— physically I’m doing just fine but I have highs and lows with the mental fallout from it.

On top of that, I got a promotion at work and now I’m learning some new things and the workload itself has increased since I’m the only one in my division. Which isn’t the first time but it just seems harder this time around. Plus, right now there are a lot of unknowns in the civilian workforce.

I’m trying to take things slow and plan out some fun things for myself to blog about. I’m thinking about writing about the process with the ectopic pregnancy on my sister site on Substack and keep this more light hearted.

It’s going to be okay. I’ll keep wandering. You too.

BJ

Keep wandering— please.

I've always enjoyed the outdoors; I love camping, kayaking, and canoeing. However, I decided to break out the hiking boots for longer than a day or two and dive into the world of backpacking. I also like a good story— and telling them!
