A Wandering Witch with Coffee & Camera
Notes from the Edge of the Map

Hey y’all,
~Let me reintroduce myself~
I’m BJ Roshone – a barefoot wanderer raised in the wild green hills of the Ozarks, now chasing light and stories in the Nebraska Sandhills. Most days, you’ll find me with a camera in one hand and a strong cup of coffee in the other, boots in the dirt, hair tangled by prairie wind.
I’m not just out here taking pretty pictures (though, let’s be honest, the light out here is magic). I’m collecting glimpses of something deeper: the whisper of folklore in an abandoned barn, the ghost of a story at a forgotten roadside shrine, the hush of dawn before the world remembers it’s supposed to be loud.
This newsletter is where I share those moments. The ones that don’t always fit in an Instagram square. Expect a blend of photography, Ozark tall tales, witchy wanderings, and reflections from this strange and beautiful in-between space—where memory tangles with myth, and a girl with roots in limestone hills learns how to bloom in sand.
You’ll hear about:
• Life in the Sandhills and how it echoes the Ozarks in unexpected ways
• Behind-the-lens stories from Wannabe Wandering Photography
• Writings that stitch folklore, history, and a dash of dark humor
• Dispatches from the road, the river, and the edge of the map
I’m building a life stitched with wonder, grit, and a little bit of spellwork. I hope you’ll come along.
With dust on my boots and a story on my tongue,
BJ (aka The Wannabe Backpacker)
